COTSA’s Fleece for Fighters

logoThe 2015-2016 Colorado TSA State Officers have embarked on an exciting community service project called Fleece for Fighters – a campaign to create fleece-tie blankets for pediatric cancer patients at Children’s Hospital.

The State Officers feel that as COTSA approaches its 30th anniversary, it’s important to give back to those in need. But they need your help to raise the money and supplies necessary to make this project a success!

There are three ways you can contribute to this worthwhile cause:

1. You can make blankets! This is what the State Officers would really like to see! They are challenging each TSA Chapter to make at least two blankets in their school colors (they would really lke to see all COTSA chapters represented as part of this project)! The chapter that creates the most blankets and/or donates the most material will be recognized at the 2016 COTSA State Conference. Don’t know how to make a fleece-tie blanket? Here’s a link to a YouTube video showing you how to make the blankets. Each blanket requires approximately 3 yards of fabric which can be obtained from any fabric store/department.

2. You can donate money! If you don’t have the time to make the blankets, you can donate money to purchase the supplies by going to the project’s GoFundMe page at All the proceeds from the campaign will be used to purchase material to make the blankets.

3. You can donate supplies. If you don’t want to make the blankets yourselves, you can simply donate fleece material (each blanket takes approximately 3 yards of material to create). If you donate materials, please contact Mr. Raymond, the COTSA State Advisor, at 720-858-2794 or and he will come pick up the materials from your school.
