COTSA’s Fleece for Fighters

logoColorado TSA’s  state community service project – Fleece for Fighters – is an ongoing campaign to create fleece-tie blankets for pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.

There are three ways chapters can contribute to this worthwhile cause:

1. Make blankets! Each TSA Chapter is encouraged to make at least two blankets in their school colors. The chapter that creates the most blankets and/or donates the most material will be recognized at the COTSA State Conference. Don’t know how to make a fleece-tie blanket? Here’s a link to a YouTube video showing you how to make the blankets. Each blanket requires approximately 3 yards of fabric which can be obtained from any fabric store/department.

2. Donate money! If a chapter doesn’t have the time to make the blankets, they can donate money to purchase the supplies by going to the project’s GoFundMe page at www.gofundme.com/fleeceforfighters. All the proceeds from the campaign will be used to purchase material to make the blankets.

3. Donate supplies. If a chapter doesn’t want to make the blankets, they can simply donate fleece material (each blanket takes approximately 3 yards of material to create). If you donate materials, please contact Mr. Raymond, the COTSA State Advisor, at 720-858-2794 or tony.raymond@cccs.edu and he will come pick up the materials from your school.
